Why
By Lucinda Ramos
I feel love when you look at me
Your eyes so intense that
I don't see the world passing by
I feel love when you speak to me
Your words so sweet that
hummingbirds stop to listen
I feel love when you touch me
The slightest touch tickling my skin
I feel love when you kiss me
Your lips as smooth as
rose petals caressing mine
Then why do I feel pain
when you notice me?
All my imperfections
Are flaws that need to be fixed.
Why do I hear disappointment in your voice
when you speak to me?
Words for me that just don't fit
Why are you holding me exactly
where you want me to be?
As I watch your lips move
I hear nothing but my thoughts
Racing back to why
I feel love when you…
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
